Who We Are

The Council of Women World Leaders is an organization composed of 91 current and former female heads of state and government.

Established in 1996, its mission is to promote good governance, enhance the experience of democracy, and increase the number, effectiveness, and visibility of women who lead at the highest levels.

The Council provides a platform for peer support and collaboration among its members, facilitating the exchange of ideas and best practices. Through its initiatives and advocacy efforts, the Council aims to empower women globally and advance gender equality in leadership roles.
